第一、长远规划，慎重选择
家长最好能从学生的学习状况、职业规划与设计、国外教育资源的优劣等方面综合考虑，然后再做决定。申请国外的大学，还要考虑孩子自身的情况，特别是申请美国、澳大利亚等国家的大学，英语一定要好。
第二、经济条件是个重要因素
家庭现有及未来几年的经济收入是否足以支付孩子留学所需的基本费用，包括学费及生活费等，这应成为家长决定是否送孩子出国留学的重要依据之一。如果家庭经济相对困难，学生出国留学会有很重的负担，这将给学生的学习带来负面影响，特别是到法律禁止留学生打工的国家留学。
第三、学生素质是个必备条件
